Working In The Dark

The Ocean County awarded a contract for safety improvements for the corner Ridge & New Hampshire Ave. New Hampshire Ave will receive properly paved right and left turning lanes. Ridge Ave will be widened westbound to accommodate a dedicated left turning lane, plus a straight lane, and the eastbound lane will be narrowed to one lane.
New crosswalks will be painted and, although the crosswalk signs will only turn on when activated by a pedestrian, on Shabbos the crosswalk sign will activate automatically.

This project was awarded to Karka Construction, for $838,235.35. This is a lot of money for a minor improvement at Ridge and New Hampshire….

Now, who is Karka Construction? An unknown entity who has been officially in business for at least 7 months, has a PO Box as an address and never found the time to register with the state of NJ.
Who in the county is pushing for this shady deal????

The job should cost $200,000 MAX the rest gets moved around between pockets.. Not a bad deal. Can we find out who else bid on this? Can we find out what other municipalities did Karka service and what is their experience with this type of work?

In the dark, you don’t know who has his hand in your pocket.
In the dark, we can make a clean get away.
In the dark, we can keep you confused.
You are afraid of the dark, we take advantage of that.
